The newly sworn Armed Forces Council has been urged by President John Dramani Mahama to maintain the greatest levels of professionalism, discipline, and integrity within the Ghanaian military.
He exhorted the council members to foster trust and confidence among Ghanaians as well as inside the military.
The Ministers of the Interior, Defense, and Foreign Affairs are among the seven members of the council, which is presided over by Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
President Mahama stressed that discipline and honesty are the cornerstones of a robust and successful military during his remarks at the swearing-in event held at the Ministry of Defense.
He gave the council the responsibility of guaranteeing moral leadership, openness, and responsibility in the military.
In order to fortify and improve the operational capability of the Ghanaian Armed Forces, the President also reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure and welfare investments.
The newly inaugurated seven-member council includes:
