The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) anticipates that, subject to final approval from Parliament, the country’s new Value Added Tax (VAT) changes would officially begin on January 1, 2026.
Speaking at the PwC Post-Budget Forum in Accra, Commissioner-General Anthony Sarpong stated that the Authority is “fully prepared” to implement the adjustments at the start of the year.
He clarified that Parliament has already begun discussing the VAT Amendment Bill, and the GRA is optimistic that MPs will approve it before Christmas.
