In Tamale, the Northern Regional Capital, the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament has concluded up its zonal public hearings.

The Northern, Savannah, North-East, Upper West, and Upper East Regions’ educational institutions and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) made up the first zone.

The Committee advised Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to carry out their responsibilities and comply with the Public Procurement Laws and the Financial Management Act to avoid infractions and misappropriation of public funds, which could result in sanctions.

Some MMDA and public educational institution officials were disciplined, while others were forced to reimburse the wasted cash within a specified term.

The Committee will hold more Zonal public hearings in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional Capital, in the coming days.
