On behalf of his people, Nana Anim Agyekum II, the Regent of Akrofuom, has promised to back Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate and vice president.
On Tuesday morning, as part of his Ashanti Regional trip, Dr. Bawumia visited the Akrofuom Constituency, where he spoke to local stakeholders and shared his vision for the nation.
On behalf of the Chiefs and the local populace, Nana Anim Agyekum welcomed Dr. Bawumia and commended President Akufo-Addo and the NPP for the progress they have made in the region. He also promised Dr. Bawumia, whom he referred to as a “future leader,” their unwavering support.

“Here our main job is petty trading and we needed a good market for our traders. Now we have a very big market among other projects,’ said the Chief, as he also praised the commitment of the District Chief Executive and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate.
“Future leader, please I want to request that you extend our gratitude to President Akufo-Addo. Tell him that when you cane here the people of Akrofuom said they are very grateful to him. Tell him the Chief and his people are very grateful.”
Nana Anim Agyekum commended Dr. Bawumia for his insight and challenged him to remain resolute as President, while also promising to support him.
“As you are coming, stay resolute for God has blessed you with wisdom and bravery,’ he said.
“The way Ghanaians have accepted you, we have also joined them to embrace you. We have taken you as our son because we know you will not disappoint us.”
The Chief also urged the district to expedite the renovation of certain roads he listed and praised the government for sending them the district road improvement project (DRIP) machines.
Dr. Bawumia gave the local Chiefs and residents his word that he would continue the NPP’s assistance to the town.
In contrast to his opponent, who will not run for reelection, Dr. Bawumia claimed that if he is elected, he will have to return to the people and ask for their vote again, making him more answerable to them.
