Jones Dotse, who served as acting chief justice, has left the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, a farewell ceremony was held for Justice Dotse.
In his final remark at the occasion, Justice Dotse thanked God for guiding him on his path from practicing law to holding judicial office.
Justice Dotse acknowledged that God had been his support system throughout the years and said, “I cannot help but say that if you find God, you have found everything and if you lose God, you have lost everything in life. And if you put your faith in God’s hands, you’ll see God’s hands in everything that you do.”
As a result of a recommendation from the Bar Council, he was given the chance to serve on the High Court bench in 2002 under former President John Agyekum Kufour’s administration.
We were sworn into the High Court on June 18, 2002, and on September 23, 2003, we were promoted to the Court of Appeal, thanks to the goodness of God, he recalled. The Supreme Court once more promoted Justice Rose Constance Owusu, myself, Justice Anin-Yeboah, and Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie on June 11, 2008.
