In all 16 regions of the nation, the government will commission more than 80 educational initiatives on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Modern facilities designed to satisfy the various demands of Ghanaian students are part of the initiative’s efforts to increase access to high-quality education.

The Ministry of Education said in a statement that President Akufo-Addo will serve as the exercise’s leader. It will be a national event with concurrent ceremonies at the district and regional levels.

The activities will be live-streamed on major television networks and social media platforms to guarantee widespread participation, and the president will be joined by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum in presiding.

From elementary schools to senior high schools and technical colleges, the projects cover a wide spectrum of educational demands.

These consist of kindergarten facilities, E-blocks, and STEM-focused institutions that support early childhood education. Among the noteworthy initiatives are the Accra STEM Academy in La-Nkwantanang Madina, the Awaso Model STEM SHS in Bibiani Anhwiaso-Bekwai, and the Kpasenkpe Model STEM SHS in the West Mamprusi District.

The program also includes basic education facilities like two-unit kindergarten blocks in localities like Fremasi DA Primary in Assin South and a 12-unit classroom block at Salem D/A Basic in Atwima Mponua.

“These projects reflect the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education and ensuring that every Ghanaian child has access to a conducive learning environment,” the Ministry’s statement read.

“We encourage all Ghanaians to join this celebration of progress in education,” the statement added.

The Bosomtwe Model STEM JHS, which has a four-story, eleven-unit classroom block, and the Wesley Girls Demonstration School in Kumasi Metro, which will get a six-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities, are two initiatives that make the Ashanti Region stand out.

To accommodate growing demand, the Sagnarigu Tamale Business School in the Northern Region will open an 18-unit classroom block.

Upgraded facilities like the six-unit classroom complex at Kodzobi Ando Basic School in Adaklu, which includes contemporary sanitary amenities, would benefit other areas, including Volta.

With initiatives like the Anyinam TVET-Applied Technical and Fashion School and the Akomadan TVET-Applied Technical School, the effort also incorporates Technical and Vocational Education (TVET), with the goal of giving students employable skills.

Through live broadcasts or in-person visits to the commissioning locations, the Ministry of Education extends an invitation to the public to observe this historic occasion.
