Three Justices of the Supreme Court were sworn in by President Nana Akufo-Addo yesterday, Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

The Court’s vacancies resulting from Justice Nene Ofoe Amegatcher’s forced retirement on February 3, 2023, Chief Justice Anin Yeboah’s retirement on May 24, 2023, and Justice Jones Dotse’s retirement on June 8, 2023, had made their appointments necessary.

Congratulations to Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie, Justice Yaw Darko Asare, and Justice Richard Adjei-Frimpong on their appointment to the nation’s highest court, the Supreme Court, were extended by Nana Akufo-Addo.

With great admiration for all three, the President stated that they have all fulfilled the strict qualifications for appointment outlined in Article 128 Clause 4 of the Constitution and are therefore considered to possess the independence of spirit, moral integrity, and impartiality of mind necessary to hold this important position.

Thus, he said that their selections were genuinely worthy and well-deserved.
