The driver Mr. Abel Dzidotor, who was charged with causing a train disaster on the Tema-Mpakadan track, received a six-month jail sentence.

He acknowledged that he was guilty on three of the four counts.

He was initially accused of reckless driving.

Secondly, he was charged with pulling into an authorized spot.

He paid a fine for each.

Thirdly, he received a six-month jail sentence after being charged with damaging state property.

Finally, he was charged with driving without a license, but he told the judge that the license was in the wrecked truck and that he would have to show it or else run further legal repercussions.

When Dzidzotor’s vehicle became stuck returning from a delivery assignment, he left it on the rail track.
