The Akosombo Dam’s controlled spill, which started on September 15, 2023, has officially come to a conclusion, according to a statement released by the Volta River Authority (VRA).
It is anticipated that the Lower Volta River and the surrounding areas will see substantial relief as a result of this intervention.
VRA has, meanwhile, reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to carrying out relief and rehabilitation operations in the impacted areas.
Restoring lives and livelihoods that were negatively damaged by the Akosombo Dam leakage is the main objective of the VRA.
The impacted communities were supported by a number of government agencies and stakeholders, for which VRA is grateful.
This acknowledgment by VRA highlights how crucial it is for the public and private sectors to work together to overcome pressing problems and obstacles.
