Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, the Western Regional Minister, has unveiled a statue in President Akufo-Addo’shonor.
The statue was put in place to honor President Akufo-Addo’scontributionsto the region’s infrastructure development. It is situated at an intersection close to Effia Nkwanta on the ongoing Sekondi road construction project.
The President’s administration started a number of significant infrastructure projects in the Western Region during his second term.
These projects include building six important roads in Takoradi and Sekondi, redeveloping the Takoradi Market Circle, building a three-tier PTC interchange in Takoradi, and building an interchange at the Paa Grant Roundabout.
In addition, there are the Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta and Agona Nkwanta-Tarkwa road projects, the construction of an Agenda 111 hospital at Ahanta West, and the conversion of Effia Nkwanta Hospital into a teaching hospital.
The other projects are almost finished, despite recent delays in the Takoradi Market Circle and PTC Interchange projects.
After the President visited the area as part of his “Thank You” tour, the statue was unveiled.
President Akufo-Addo had earlier admitted that his government had fallen short of its promises in front of a group of chiefs, clergy, imams, heads of institutions, government officials, and party members.
Nonetheless, he declared that he was still answerable to the people of the Western Region and expressed confidence that great strides had been made.
He also promised attendees that by the end of his term, the two projects that had been delayed would be finished.
