Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president, asserts that he has made enough sacrifices for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be granted the opportunity to lead the party in the elections of 2024.

When the NPP sought a witness for the petition for the general election of 2012, he claims he was prepared to sacrifice for the party while his opponents offered justifications. He said that by serving as a witness for the, he jeopardized his political future.

Dr. Bawumia underscored the countless sacrifices he has made over the years for the party when speaking to delegates in the Suame constituency as part of his campaign in the Ashanti Region.

The bulk of our members were, he claimed, “making excuses” when the party required a witness for the 2012 election.

Dr. Bawumia continued, “There were numerous justifications; some said they were traveling and doing other things because they were afraid to risk their political careers. But I kept my position; I’m the best candidate to lead the party.

Dr. Bawumia is vying to lead the party as its flag bearer in the elections of 2024. He is competing against nine other people who underwent screening this week.
