In connection with a robbery attack on a gold-buying store in Akoon-Tarkwa in the Western Region, the police have detained three suspects.
On April 18, 2023, the suspects Ezekiel Stephen Oghenekaro, Samuel Amoashie, and Fatawu Awudu, along with three other suspects, stormed the gold buying shop and fled with an undisclosed sum of money.
Following the attack, the Police conducted an operation against the gang the same day, and three of the suspects were captured in the nearby bush near the townships of Esuosu and Benso.
Three motorcycles and a sack loaded with an undefined sum of money thought to be the loot from their raid on the shop were found after they were searched in the wilderness.
All of the accused were later brought before the Tarkwa District Court on April 21, 2023, and were remanded into safe custody with a court date of May 3, 2023, set for their next appearance.
