On Friday, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position, picked the nomination form.

According to the former NPP general secretary, his selection of the nomination form signaled the start of even greater things to come. He vowed to bring about “A New Dawn” in Ghanaian politics, which would be based on the revival of the “Triple S Doctrine” of service, sacrifice, and selflessness.

Mr. Agyepong stated a strong desire to see the country transformed and pledged to reduce waste by running a lean, effective, and efficient government apparatus ready to provide significant development to the disadvantaged populace.

He counseled NPP delegates to make sensible choices by keeping an eye out for “thinking leaders” who have creative ideas and a clear vision for where they wanted to lead the nation.

He pleaded with the delegates to have faith in his ability and tenacity to implement the challenging and unsettling changes required to stop Ghana’s economic collapse.

Mr. Agyepong exhorted them to reject any financial or material overtures or inducements and to refuse to mortgage their future for a pittance. He urged the other flagbearer candidates to agree to an open discussion, saying Ghanaians had a right and a right to know what each candidate stood for.

“Our opinions, preferences for particular policies, temperament, and character are all important. You must be humble enough to expose yourself to public criticism if you want to lead the people of Ghan, he continued.

In order to ensure that the next presidential primaries were conducted in a spirit of fairness and equity devoid of manipulation, coercion, favoritism, and absolute respect for the Party’s Code of Conduct surrounding such primaries, he expressed trust in the Party’s National Executives and Elders.
