Parliament will meet again on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. for the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament, according to Speaker of the House Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.
This comes after the summit that was originally planned for October 14, 2025, was postponed.
Citing Order 58 of Parliament’s Standing Orders, the Speaker’s Office confirmed the new date in a notice dated October 8, 2025.
“Pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, I give notice that the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall now commence on Tuesday, 21st day of October 2025 at 1400 hours at Parliament House, Accra,” the statement stated.
Speaker Bagbin gave no further explanation in that previous communication, attributing the suspension to “circumstances beyond control.”
In order to discuss important national issues, including as bills, motions, and policy announcements from government departments and agencies, members of Parliament are anticipated to meet again after break.
The meeting, which is the year’s last parliamentary session, is expected to include discussions on fiscal and legislative matters before to the release of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
