The Fourth Quarter Ministerial Advisory Board Meeting of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has been called in order to discuss important policy matters, assess progress, and improve cooperation in the pursuit of the Ministry’s strategic goals.

Section 39 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327) established the Advisory Board, which is further strengthened by the Civil Service (Ministerial Advisory Board) Regulations, 2010 (L.I. 1961). The Advisory Board is a statutory body that promotes ongoing communication between the Ministry and its stakeholders.

Assisting the sector minister with planning, policy development, and the efficient performance of the Ministry’s duties is the Board’s mandate.

Additionally, it offers a forum for discussion on new topics related to gender, child welfare, and social protection, guaranteeing that the Ministry’s policies and initiatives continue to be in line with government development objectives and responsive to national priorities.

Members of the Advisory Board were thanked by Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, for their ongoing assistance and technical direction in furthering the Ministry’s mission.

She pointed out that as a Ministry at the centre of social change, the effectiveness of its policies and the alliances it forms will determine how successfully it can safeguard the weak, advance gender equality, and guarantee the welfare of children and families.

She underlined that the Board is essential in helping the Ministry carry out its purpose in an efficient and long-lasting manner.

A presentation on the Ministry’s accomplishments to date, along with other discussions centred on policy direction, was a major highlight of the meeting.
