The ECG has started to thoroughly review all significant contracts.

A thorough evaluation of all significant contracts, including its digital payment arrangement with Hubtel, has been started by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in order to improve adherence to the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act and guarantee value for money.

During his Tuesday, October 28, 2025, appearance before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Acting Managing Director Julius Kpekpena revealed that ECG had hired a legal consultant to review the conditions of its important contracts.

The PFM Act’s requirement for gross revenue collection, which states that all payments must be received in whole before any deductions are made, is the main focus of the review, according to Mr. Kpekpena.
