President John Dramani Mahama welcomed the Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Reverend Sarah Mullally, to the Presidency on Monday as she made her first official visit to Africa.

In addition to congratulating Archbishop Mullally on her historic appointment as Canterbury’s first female Archbishop, the President reiterated Ghana’s commitment to deepening its long-standing collaboration with the Anglican Church in advancing social justice, education, healthcare, peace, and national development.

The long-standing ties between Ghana, the Anglican Church, and the United Kingdom were emphasised by the courtesy call.
