In response to increased security concerns in the area, the Ghanaian Embassy in Qatar has announced plans to conduct an emergency evacuation practice for Ghanaians residing there.

The embassy stated in a notice dated March 15, 2026, that the government’s decision comes after a previous statement about the changing security situation that was sent on March 6, 2026.

The announcement states that the evacuation plan will only involve a one-way trip from Qatar to Ghana.

Therefore, Ghanaians who now live in Qatar and would like to be evacuated were advised by the embassy to indicate their interest right away by sending an email with their passport biodata pages.

Interested parties must submit the necessary data to [email protected] by Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the latest.

The drill is being planned as a preventative step in reaction to the increased security situation in the area, the embassy stressed.

The announcement comes amid mounting concerns about security developments across portions of the Middle East, leading some governments to evaluate contingency measures for its residents abroad.
