The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana has announced plans to publish a special edition of the Ghanaian Envoy, its official newsletter, focusing on the country’s Reparatory Justice Agenda.
The special publication will document Ghana’s journey and advocacy efforts towards advancing reparatory justice, while highlighting key milestones, government initiatives, international engagements and perspectives on addressing historical injustices linked to the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism.
Ministry Seeks Public Contributions on Reparatory Justice
As part of the publication process, the Ministry is inviting articles, opinion pieces, essays and other relevant contributions from members of the public and stakeholders interested in Ghana’s reparatory justice campaign.
Academics, researchers, historians, practitioners, civil society organisations and other experts are encouraged to submit contributions that provide meaningful perspectives on the subject.
Submissions may explore the history of the transatlantic slave trade, colonialism, reparatory justice advocacy, international engagements, achievements, challenges and the future of Ghana’s reparations agenda.
The Ministry said contributions should be brief, concise, original and relevant to the objectives of the special edition.
How to Submit Articles
Interested contributors should send their articles to the Information and Public Affairs Bureau (IPAB) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via [email protected] for consideration and possible publication.
Authors are also required to submit a recent passport-size, coloured head-and-shoulders photograph in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format together with their articles.
Contributors are encouraged to submit original and unpublished articles that are clear, well-researched and suitable for publication in the Ghanaian Envoy.
Submission Deadline
The deadline for submissions is September 2, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it looks forward to receiving thoughtful and insightful contributions that will enrich both the national and international conversation on Ghana’s Reparatory Justice Agenda.
The special edition is expected to provide an important platform for examining Ghana’s efforts to promote historical justice, recognition, reparations and redress for injustices associated with the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism.
