The construction of a cutting-edge Food and Beverages Industrial Park is the cornerstone of the government of Ghana’s ambitious plan to transform the Kwahu enclave into a premier manufacturing hub.

Goosie Tanoh, Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy, made the announcement at the 2026 Kwahu Business Forum, which is currently being held at the Kwahu Convention Center. The plan is an attempt to use the climate and topography of the region to promote significant industrial development.

A major part of the government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda, which was formally introduced earlier this year after the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill was passed, is the proposed industrial zone.

By enabling 24-hour operations across industries, the strategy aims to boost productivity and possibly greatly increase output.

Additionally, it is anticipated to create significant job opportunities for youth in the Eastern Region while using enhanced transportation and energy infrastructure to maintain ongoing production.

Officials said that talks to raise money for the industrial park’s development are at an advanced stage of negotiations with a group of foreign investors.

Nonetheless, a few local business owners voiced worries about the high borrowing costs and restricted credit availability.

In response to these concerns, former Finance Minister Seth Terkper urged companies to look into funding alternatives other than traditional bank loans.
