A lecturer and teaching assistant died in an accident, according to UCC.

Dr. Kwabena Koforobour Agyemang and Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah have been certified dead by the University of Cape Coast after a car accident.

The university stated it got the news “with profound shock and deep sorrow” in a press release on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

The two died in a traffic collision at Third Ridge on the Cape Coast–Accra route, according to the statement.

The university’s Department of Geography and Regional Planning employed Dr. Kwabena Koforobour Agyemang as a Senior Lecturer.

He was “a highly respected member of the University’s academic community, known for his dedication to teaching, research, and service,” according to management.

The statement read, “His invaluable contributions and presence will be deeply missed by colleagues, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.”

His teaching assistant, Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah, was a recent graduate of the same department and a National Service Person.
