The Accra High Court’s Divorce and Matrimonial Division has received an application from Joana Quaye, the ex-wife of businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye, requesting an injunction against her husband about various assets and company interests that were obtained during their marriage.

The application asks the court to prevent Mr. Quaye from selling, transferring, or disposing of specific assets and shareholdings while an appeal regarding the couple’s divorce settlement is being heard.

The contested assets, according to court documents submitted by Dame & Partners on Mrs. Quaye’s behalf, include interests in a number of businesses, residential properties, and high-end automobiles. She contends that these assets should be distributed equitably because they were obtained during the marriage.

Mrs. Quaye described their connection in an affidavit supporting the application, saying that they got married in 2010 after meeting in 2002 after finishing secondary school.

She asserts that she both personally and financially supported Mr. Quaye’s early business endeavours and schooling, including helping to form Quick Credit Company Limited, which is currently known as Bills Micro Credit.

Mrs. Quaye went on to add that before being married, the couple had a joint bank account and made investments together; she claims that the money from these activities went toward funding Mr. Quaye’s education in the UK.

Additionally, she claims that following his return to Ghana, they worked together to investigate business prospects and started a microfinance company using personal funds.

Additionally, according to the statement, the pair jointly created Quick Micro Credit and Investment Limited in 2011, with both of them acting as directors and stockholders.

Mrs. Quaye claims that during the divorce process, her name was later deleted from the company’s records without her permission.

Shareholding interests in businesses such as Quick Credit, Quick Angels, Waterfall Engineering, Tigon Entertainment, Ridge Medical Center, and CEQA Foods are among the assets mentioned in the application.

Along with a number of high-end cars, the application also mentions residential properties in Dansoman, Mamprobi, East Legon, and Trasacco Estates.

Mrs. Quaye argues that any transfer or disposal could have an impact on the enforcement of a future judgement in the event that the appeal is successful, thus she is requesting that the court protect the assets until the appeal is resolved.

Concerns over parts of the January 20, 2026, initial divorce judgement are also raised in the document.

Mrs. Quaye claims that her capacity to fully utilise her right of appeal was impacted by the delays in receiving the complete written judgement.
