Namibia’s President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has arrived in Accra for the High-Level Consultative Conference on the Next Steps to the Historic United Nations Resolution on the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans, which is scheduled for June 17–19, 2026.
Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency in charge of Finance and Administration, and Francis Danti Kotia, the Coordinating Director for Multilateral and International Organisations at the Foreign Ministry and a former Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, welcomed the President to the Accra International Airport’s Jubilee Lounge.
Several African leaders, including President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, are scheduled to speak at the ceremonial opening ceremony on Thursday morning at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.

A guided tour of the venue’s art exhibition on slavery, panel discussions on transcontinental cooperation for the successful implementation of UN Resolution A/RES/80/250, strategies to advance reparatory justice for Africans and people of African descent, and the necessity for governments and civil society organisations to work together to advance reparatory justice are just a few of the events scheduled.
