The Ghana Scholarships Authority (GSA) has officially commenced interviews for applicants seeking support under the 2026/2027 Academic Year Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme.
The nationwide interview exercise is expected to run until Monday, August 18, 2026, with interviews taking place at designated Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across Ghana.
Scholarship Applicants Advised to Check Application Portal
In a statement issued in Accra, the Ghana Scholarships Authority urged all shortlisted applicants to regularly check their scholarship application portal for interview updates, venue details, and scheduled dates.
Applicants have also been advised to report to their assigned interview centres with all the required documents for verification and assessment to facilitate the scholarship selection process.
According to the Authority, candidates should strictly comply with all interview guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful evaluation.
Ghana Scholarship Application Process Is Free
The Ghana Scholarships Authority has reiterated that the entire scholarship application and interview process is completely free of charge.
The Authority stressed that it has not engaged any agents, consultants, or third parties to assist applicants in securing scholarships in exchange for payment.
Prospective beneficiaries have therefore been cautioned against paying money to individuals claiming they can influence or guarantee scholarship awards.
Public Urged to Report Scholarship Fraud
To protect applicants from fraud and scholarship scams, the Authority encouraged the public to report anyone demanding payment or falsely claiming to represent the Ghana Scholarships Authority.
Reports can be made through the Authority’s official hotline 0302962928 for prompt investigation and action.
The 2026/2027 Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme forms part of the government’s commitment to supporting higher education by providing financial assistance to qualified Ghanaian students pursuing tertiary education in accredited institutions across the country.
