Ghana Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has announced a 24-man squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as an international friendly against Morocco.
The squad features several players who represented Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, alongside two new faces and the return of key midfielder Mohammed Kudus, who missed the tournament in North America through injury.
Benjamin Asare Retains Black Stars Spot
Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has retained his place in the Ghana national team and will compete for the goalkeeping position alongside Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang.
Defender Nathaniel Adjei, who plays for French Ligue 1 side Lorient, has also earned a recall after nearly a year away from the Black Stars. His impressive performances for the French club have contributed to his return to the national team.
New Faces Earn Ghana Call-Ups
Carlos Queiroz has rewarded the strong club performances of Jan Gyamerah of SV Elversberg and Ronald Donkor of the New York Red Bulls with places in the Black Stars squad.

Mohammed Kudus Returns to Black Stars
One of the biggest developments in the squad is the return of Mohammed Kudus, who missed Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign because of injury.
