Ghana’s Black Maidens made a powerful start to their WAFU B U17 Girls Cup campaign, recording a convincing 4-0 victory over Burkina Faso in their opening match.
Ghana dominated the contest and took the lead shortly before half-time after Linda Achiaa won a penalty for the Black Maidens.
Seidatu Wahab stepped up to take the spot-kick and calmly converted in the 45+3rd minute, giving Ghana a 1-0 advantage going into the break.
The Black Maidens continued their attacking display after the restart, with Gloria Ameaa finding the back of the net to double Ghana’s lead.
Benedicta Danso then added a third goal as Ghana maintained control of the WAFU B U17 Girls Cup encounter.
With six minutes remaining in normal time, Hajara Adams completed the scoring in the 84th minute, sealing a dominant 4-0 win for the Black Maidens.
