Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has continued his monitoring tour of the implementation of President John Dramani Mahama’s Free Primary Healthcare initiative in the Upper East Region.
As part of efforts to increase public awareness of the government’s Free Primary Healthcare programme, the Health Minister participated in a radio sensitisation exercise aimed at educating residents about the initiative and its benefits.
The sensitisation programme was broadcast on Dreams FM and 11 other radio stations across the Upper East Region, allowing residents in various communities to receive information about the government’s primary healthcare policy.
The initiative is expected to improve access to essential healthcare services, particularly for people in underserved communities, while supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s primary healthcare system.
The Health Minister’s monitoring activities form part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to assess the rollout of the programme, engage local communities and ensure that the Free Primary Healthcare initiative reaches its intended beneficiaries.
The government has identified improved access to quality and affordable healthcare as a key priority, with the programme expected to contribute to better health outcomes and reduce financial barriers to basic medical care.
The continued public education campaign in the Upper East Region is therefore aimed at ensuring that residents understand how they can benefit from the Free Primary Healthcare programme and access available health services.
