NDC Opens Nominations for 2026 Constituency Executive Elections

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that nominations for its 2026 Constituency Executive Elections will officially open on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The party said the opening of nominations is part of the approved timetable for its ongoing internal elections, which will determine executives at various levels of the party.

NDC members who wish to contest constituency executive positions have been encouraged to complete the nomination process within the stipulated period.

NDC Nomination and Filing Fees

According to the NDC, payments for nomination forms and filing fees must be made through the party’s online portal using mobile money (MoMo) across all networks.

The party has also outlined eligibility requirements for aspirants and other members participating in the nomination process.

Aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers are required to be members in good standing and must have fully paid their membership dues for the past four years.

Members who have outstanding membership dues have been directed to clear their arrears through *92025# or via the party’s official website.

NDC Opens Campaigning for 2026 Internal Elections

The NDC has also officially opened the campaign period for its 2026 internal elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.

The party said all eligible aspirants may begin their campaigns, provided they comply with the NDC’s established rules, regulations and directives.

Regional and constituency officers, together with Ward Coordinators, have been instructed to facilitate campaign activities for all eligible aspirants within their respective jurisdictions.

NDC Issues Warning to Parliamentary Aspirants

However, the party clarified that the campaign window does not cover individuals pursuing or intending to pursue parliamentary ambitions.

The restriction applies to sitting Members of Parliament as well as individuals who are currently considering or have publicly expressed an intention to contest future parliamentary elections.

The NDC warned that anyone who violates the directive will face sanctions in accordance with the party’s rules and regulations.

NDC Calls for Discipline During Internal Elections

The National Secretariat has urged NDC constituencies, aspirants and party members to maintain discipline and respect the party’s democratic principles throughout the electoral process.

The party said adherence to its rules will be important in ensuring a smooth, transparent and orderly 2026 NDC internal election.
