The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer and presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated John Boadu and all newly elected national executives following the party’s successful National Delegates Conference held in Kumasi.

The NPP national executive elections, which took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, marked the completion of the party’s internal reorganization ahead of the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dr Bawumia said the elections were conducted in an atmosphere of peace and transparency, adding that the results reflect the choice and wishes of NPP delegates across the country.

John Boadu-Led NPP Leadership to Prepare for 2028

According to Dr Bawumia, the newly elected NPP National Executive Committee, led by National Chairman John Boadu, now has the responsibility of preparing the party for the crucial 2028 Ghana elections.

He expressed confidence that the new leadership will begin the process of strengthening the party’s structures, mobilising its grassroots and building the unity required to secure victory in the next general election.

The NPP flagbearer noted that the party’s rank and file expect the new national executives to work together and provide effective leadership as the party prepares for the 2028 presidential election.

Bawumia Pledges Support for New NPP Leadership

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also pledged his support to the newly elected NPP leadership, promising to work with them to establish an inclusive system that draws on the talents and experience of members across the party.

He stressed that every capable member of the NPP should have an opportunity to contribute to the party’s campaign and efforts to win the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dr Bawumia emphasised that talent should not be excluded from the campaign, whether individuals supported successful or unsuccessful candidates during the NPP’s internal elections.

The NPP presidential candidate said his commitment is to help create a united party capable of harnessing the skills, experience and dedication of its members to achieve electoral victory in 2028.

The completion of the NPP’s national reorganization now sets the stage for the party to shift its focus towards strengthening unity, expanding grassroots mobilisation and preparing for the 2028 elections in Ghana.
