The Driver and Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA) has determined that all Polyvynl Chloride (PVC) cards and driver’s licenses are invalid as of March 2024.

The DVLA warned personnel in a note to employees dated Monday, September 4, 2023, that all smart card driver’s licenses issued on September 17, 2023, “are due for replacement beginning September 17, 2023.”

Owners of PVC licenses must thus take them to the closest DVLA office for verification and replacement with a smart card license.

It is anticipated that the replacement exercise will last from now until March 31, 2024.
