The opposition People’s National Convention (PNC) has received a letter from Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) warning it to settle its leadership problem or face a potential permanent suspension.

According to the EC, the political party will have no bearing on the situation until it is resolved.

According to a letter from the Commission’s deputy chairman, Samuel Tettey, “I like to advise you that the Commission has decided to stop all interactions with your Party until the leadership problem is resolved.”

The PNC intended to begin its reorganization in October in preparation for the elections of 2024 using the roadmap.

A counter-release, however, picked the beginning of 2023 as the timeframe.

After the EC decided to stop working with the opposition party until the internal squabbles were settled, it is unclear how the opposition party will handle this.
