Roads Minister Francis Asenso-Boakye and Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mochizuki Hisanobu, had bilateral talks earlier yesterday morning.

The status of important projects like the Tema-Motorway Interchange Phase 2 and the Kumasi Inner Ring Road (Asokwa to Santansi Roundabout), where the required safeguards are being put in place to ensure the projects’ seamless delivery, were discussed.

Throughout the conversation, the Minister underlined the significance of the Volivo bridge project for improving connectivity and boosting regional economic activity, and he asked Ambassador Hisanobu to move quickly to get more money for it.

In response, Ambassador Hisanobu reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to promoting ongoing cooperation with Ghana by assuring that measures were in progress to assist the required finance arrangements for the Volivo bridge project.

The Honorable Hisanobu reaffirmed the government’s pledge to assist Ghana in its endeavors related to roads and highways.
