Hundreds of Dambai locals rushed to shake hands with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, on Friday during his visit to the Oti Regional Capital.

Amidst cheers of “It is possible,” he was met with a blushing greeting from the crowd that had gathered to watch the NPP’s flagbearer enter the street.

Before the historic journey began, throngs of enthusiastic party members and supporters gathered along the route in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the Flagbearer.

The youth’s “jamma” songs, along with troupes performing traditional and cultural dances, notably the terrifying performances by the Northerners Association dancing troupe, set the mood for joy and celebration.

The Northern dance, according to the dance coordinator Sarki Yahya, was intended to greet the Vice President and Flagbearer, who was also a proud son of the North.

Police had set up shop at strategic locations and along the route leading to the residency in Dambai as early as 0700 hours in order to maintain law and order, safeguard traffic, and safeguard residents.

With Dr. Bawumia’s effigy and party knickknacks soaring high atop light poles and other items, his one-day tour has created a great deal of excitement.

The regional capital was covered in enormous posters of him, many of which read “It is possible.”

He has begun his interactions with Christian clergy and is scheduled to meet with Muslim imams, interact with the House of Chiefs in the region, and then conclude his tour with young people.
