Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh is just another ordinary person, according to Fiifi Kwetey, general secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He contends that the Energy Minister lacks the dignity to acknowledge Ghana’s current electricity issue.
“What is spectacular about Mathew Opoku Prempeh?” he said in a yet-to-be-aired interview on Accra-based TV3. He added, “He’s been in charge of the Energy sector and he has not even got the honor and capacity to accept that we have a power crisis.”
“I say all the time that there is no perfect political system. But between the NDC and the NPP, it’s really sad if people actually make an effort to place us as the same,” he said.
According to Fiifi Kwetey, the Energy Minister is not adding anything to the ticket for the 2024 elections, given that he is incapable of accepting accountability for the current power situation.
He suggests that there isn’t a flawless political system in light of the differences between the two major political parties in the nation.
Fiifi Kwetey, however, finds it depressing when people mistake the NDC for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
