The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, was paid a courtesy call by Ms. Esther Cobbah, President of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR)-Ghana, Mr. Arik Karani, President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), and representatives from both organizations.
The President used the occasion to personally congratulate the Minister on his new appointment and conveyed his belief that he would improve Africa’s standing abroad.
She emphasized the possibility of a closer partnership between IPR and the Ministry and reaffirmed the IPR’s steadfast support for the Minister as he begins his new position as an institute member.
African Public Relations Association (APRA) President Mr. Arik Karani spoke about the organization’s 50th anniversary festivities and the next IPR Ghana Knowledge Conference.
In order to make sure that the conference and anniversary get the support and attention they need and to emphasize how crucial they are to establishing Africa’s image narrative on the international scene, the IPR delegation asked the Minister for his assistance.
The Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the congrats and reaffirmed his pledge to offer all the assistance required to improve Africa’s reputation.
He was upbeat that more cooperation with organizations such as IPR will benefit Ghanaian and African diplomatic and PR initiatives.
With both sides looking forward to future cooperation, the meeting ended on a positive tone of understanding and common purpose.
