At the Jubilee House in Accra, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama swore in Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police in accordance with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution.
In addition to congratulating him on his appointment, President Mahama asked him to lead with discipline, humility, and integrity, making sure that officers fulfill their responsibilities in a professional manner in order to fulfill the Service’s mission.
Mr. Yohuno thanked the President for promoting him to the highest position in his career. He gave the President and Ghanaians his word that he takes the position seriously and will maintain the principles of discipline, respect, service, and openness in order to maintain national security.
Mr. Yohuno, who has 40 years of experience as the new Inspector General of Police, is anticipated to lead the Ghana Police Service’s modernization and development.
H.E. the Vice President, the Honorable Chief of Staff, the Honorable Interior and Defense Ministers, and a few other government officials attended the occasion.
