The NPP prohibits MMDCEs and party officials from challenging incumbents

In the upcoming parliamentary elections, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has prohibited its national, regional, and constituency executives as well as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) from challenging the party’s incumbent MPs.

The party has also established specific guidelines for the running of the presidential and parliamentary primaries, which will be made public in due course.

A statement dated April 3, 2023, and signed by the party’s general secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong contained the decision to prohibit the party’s executives and MMDCEs from challenging their current MPs.

The schedule for holding the party’s primaries is provided below:
