The Tourism Society of Ghana paid a courtesy call to Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and reiterated its dedication to advancing youth-oriented domestic travel.

The minister underlined during the meeting the value of cultural pride, patriotism, and youth empowerment via education and storytelling.

She urged young people to become ambassadors of Ghana’s rich cultural legacy after reflecting on her artistic career.

The Tourism Society of Ghana’s longstanding partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and its expansion to over 80,000 members nationwide were emphasized by Mr. Joseph Amartey, acting CEO.

He declared that a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed with GES to guarantee cultural representation on education boards and to institutionalize tourism clubs in schools.

The four main youth activities of the society were also revealed:

Students’ national identification and cultural appreciation are strengthened through the Youth in Tourism Festival, Youth Sports Festival, National Youth Campaign, and National Tourism Quiz.

The delegation demanded that students, especially those who are situated in restricted or security zones, have better access to cultural and heritage places.

The minister endorsed the plan, pointing out that these kinds of trips might encourage the upcoming generation of creative thinkers.

Both sides reiterated their dedication to enhancing cooperation and utilizing travel and the arts as potent instruments for the advancement of the country.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts’s Director of Tourism, Dr. Geoffrey Tamakloe, and Director of Culture and Creative Arts, Mr. Divine Owusu Ansah, were in attendance at the meeting.
