The 5.8-kilometer Borteyman-Motorway Road project is around 70% finished, and this month, asphalt overlay is anticipated to begin in earnest.

The 13th All Africa Games will be held at the Borteyman Sports Complex in 2019, and the project, which aims to improve road connection and access there, began formally in August 2022 and is anticipated to be finished by the end of this year.

When completed, the project, which is being carried out by Oswal Investments Limited, is anticipated to shorten travel times and enhance traffic safety in the areas surrounding Ashale Botwe, School Junction, Nmai Dzorn, and Borteyman to the highway.

Last week Wednesday, the Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Attah, inspected the progress of the work at the site along with the heads of the agencies and directors of the ministry. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work completed by the contractor.

He expressed excitement with the contractor’s rapid work pace without sacrificing quality. “The building period is 18 months. However, this project was finished in less than a year and is now 70% complete overall.

With the words, “The work is on course, the contractor is ahead of schedule, and we are satisfied with the quality and progress of the work done so far,” Ing. James Amoo-Gottfreid, the Director of the Department of Urban Roads, joined the sector minister in expressing his happiness.

Unless any unforeseen occurrences occur, we think the most of the work would have been finished by the end of this year.

The project’s general scope includes building a 5.8 km (4.66 mi) long dual-lane main carriageway with asphaltic concrete pavement surface, a further 5.8 km (2.60 mi) long single service lane with asphaltic concrete pavement surface, as well as sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the road. Other improvements include the provision and installation of 2no traffic signals at the West Trasacco and Stadium Junctions, the installation of streetlights along the entire length of the road, the building of 8no lay-bys along the route to support public transportation, as well as other related works like drainage, road signs, and markings, crash barriers, and public transportation facilities have been incorporated as needed.
