The Big Push Program’s upgrade of the Saboba to Chereponi road project is moving forward at a steady pace.
As part of his tour of the Northern and Northeast Regions, Hon. Kwame Agbodza visited the project earlier this week and expressed his pleasure with the state of the work thus far.
The project is expected to be finished in February 2028, having started in February 2026.
As of right now, the project is a little ahead of schedule, with 12.71% of Lot 1 and 12.48% of Lot 2 completed.

To date, the contractor has completed clearing, demolition, scarification, and washout section filling to make the road safe and usable by drivers.
Travel time between Saboba and Chereponi has significantly decreased as a result of this initial effort, which has also improved the stretch’s riding quality.
The contractor’s current concentration is on building earthworks, specifically filling to widen and raise the road to formation, and concrete structures (such as culverts and u-drains).
The following towns will also have 1,000-liter mechanised boreholes installed as part of the project’s scope in order to assist local communities:
* Nandodo Town
* Achuma Town
* Teikazu Town
* Tacheku Town
* Kpegu Town
* Sanguli Town
* Gbangba-Pong Town
* Timbu Town
* Nabiri Town
* Nabruku No. 1
* Nabruku No. 2
