Governing Kwame Agbodza, the Minister of Roads and Highways, has rejected attempts by political opponents to take credit for ongoing infrastructure projects, emphasising that the current administration is more concerned with finishing abandoned projects for the benefit of Ghanaians than with partisan politics.
He states that regardless of whose government started a project, President John Dramani Mahama’s administration is still dedicated to maintaining continuity in national development.
The Minister stated that results-driven administration must replace the period of politics based on claims and counterclaims over projects while speaking during a road inspection visit of the North East Region.
“I have heard some politicians sitting at home, after having eight years in office and doing very little about these issues, now trying to list what they claim to have achieved, while accusing others of taking advantage.”
“It does not matter who started what. What matters is completing projects for the benefit of the Ghanaian people.”
“If you had eight years and did very little, and now, by the grace of God, President Mahama has been given another opportunity, allow him the space to fix what you were unable to fix within that period,” he said.
