Kwame Governs Agbodza, the Minister for Roads and Highways, has shed light on why the Ministry’s road inspection visits can go late into the night, emphasising that the team strives to achieve goals rather than being limited by the time of day.

He said that when contractors are working nonstop on several road projects, sunset shouldn’t be seen as an excuse to stop work.

Speaking to the media in Saboba on Sunday, May 24, 2026, during a road inspection tour of the North East Region, Mr. Agbodza stated that the Ministry is still dedicated to finishing its daily inspection programs, even if the practice takes place at night.

“Well, we work at night. We still eat at night and do everything at night, so sunset does not mean we should stop working,” he said.

“Some contractors are working at night while others work during the day, so we work to target. Until the target is achieved, sunset or sunrise is not a hindrance,” he added.

According to the Minister, the inspection teams are committed to finishing their daily tasks in order to efficiently oversee current road construction and guarantee that contractors stay on course.

As part of the government’s attempts to oversee road infrastructure projects and guarantee on-time delivery under its road development program, Mr. Agbodza has been conducting inspection trips throughout portions of northern Ghana.
