In order to win the Sekyere Afram Plains seat for the main opposition National Democratic Congress in the 2024 elections, flag bearer candidate Kwabena Duffuor declared his son, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Jr., has his support and blessing.
The former finance minister is quoted by his media outlet Starr FM as saying, “I have blessed my son to win the elections and become MP,” and adding, “He had his Ph.D. at the age of 28 years and is 40 now.”
He is more than ready to be the constituency’s leader, according to Dr. Duffuor.
There is no doubt in my mind that I am entirely behind him, he said.
“My son asked my opinion, and I gave him the go-ahead. He has my backing, the prospective flag bearer remarked.
He is my son, and I am entirely behind him. I want him to win, and he will win.
On May Day, the party in the Ashanti Region vetted Duffuor Jr. He was given the go-ahead to compete on May 13 by the screening panel.
