The Ministry of Defense intends to completely cancel the intake in advance of a new statewide recruitment drive in August 2025 after discovering 210 unfit applicants in the most recent admittance to the Ghana Military Academy.

He clarified that no intake had been held at the Army Recruits Training School in the previous 17 months, despite the school’s ability to teach between 900 and 1,500 recruits every six months.

Dr. Boamah claims that because of the extended wait, many of these applicants might no longer be able to meet the current age, fitness, or medical requirements. That intake has therefore likewise been canceled.

In August 2025, a fresh nationwide hiring campaign is anticipated to begin. Dr. Boamah declared that in order to enhance the screening procedure and reduce fraud, a digital enlistment and recruitment portal would be implemented.

He cautioned the populace against paying anyone to help them enlist in the Ghanaian military.

Dr. Boamah emphasized, “Joining the Ghana Armed Forces under President Mahama will be based solely on merit, not money.”
