He underlined the nation’s goal to dominate the African continent in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation and infrastructure.

During a high-level discussion with a group from Firnal Inc., a U.S.-based infrastructure and data technology business, Hon. George said, “AI is one of the key areas where we aim to position Ghana as a continental leader and a serious player in the global technology race.”

The Firnal Inc. group met with the Minister to discuss potential joint ventures in Ghana’s developing digital economy, under the direction of President Mr. Abdullah Adam Syed.

Firnal Inc. is renowned for its proficiency in developing next-generation data centers, which include infrastructure that is ready for artificial intelligence, high-performance computing settings, and sovereign cloud solutions for both the public and private sectors.

The Minister emphasized Ghana’s ICT preparedness, saying, “There is a need for investment in this area to support the rapid digitalisation journey in Ghana and we welcome Firnal as a partner as a reflection of our strong foundation for digital transformation.”

He extended an invitation to Firnal Inc. to collaborate closely with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) in order to guarantee conformity with both worldwide best practices and national policy.

The gathering emphasized common goals in developing safe, expandable, and energy-efficient data infrastructure, with a focus on capacity-building, digital sovereignty, and artificial intelligence capabilities.

Mr. Syed was accompanied by OMNI Strategies LTD, a local partner of Firnal, Inc., who were represented by their CEO, Dr. Francis Blay, Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, the Director General of Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, a Research and Innovations agency under MoCDTI; Mr. Francis Enyan, a project consultant; and Mr. Isaac Ofori, Director of Operations, Firnal Africa.

All of them expressed confidence in Ghana’s potential as a digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence hub in Africa.
