Following the Ministry’s July 29 and July 31, 2025, publications about small-scale licenses that were found to have certain irregularities in print and online media, such as the Ghanaian Times, The Chronicle, Daily Guide, Daily Democrat, Joy News, 3-News, Kessben Online, Sena Radio Online, Soiree News Online, Ghana News Agency, and Bright FM Online, the Honourable Minister established a three-member committee to receive petitions from any affected license holders and/or give them the chance to submit more detailed information to support their license claims.
Likewise, it is anticipated that the Minerals Commission will provide the Committee with any justifications for any errors found in the licensing process.
It is therefore a reminder to affected license holders that they must provide the Ministry with any supporting documents for their small-scale mining permits by 17:00 on September 1, 2025, at the latest. Should this not be the case, the Honorable Minister will cancel such permits.
