Following the beheadings of his grandfather and stepmother in the town of Okorase, which is located in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, a 22-year-old man named Alex Tengeh was detained by police in Koforidua.
Although it is unknown what precipitated Alex Tengeh’s conduct, he reportedly told the authorities that he had recently been introduced to a marijuana sweet before his sad deed. Residents claim that Alex Tengeh is not known to have any mental health difficulties.
Witnesses claim that the 22-year-old was observed a few meters from their residence on Thursday at around 9 o’clock strangling a young woman with his bare hands.
The young lady’s father, Kofi Amponsah, rushed to her aid after hearing her daughter’s screams and encouraged her to file a police report.
After leaving the scene, Tengeh went to his own house without his father, attacked his grandfather, and decapitated him while he was still in bed. Later, as his grandfather was being saved, he followed after his stepmother and killed her by butchering her.
When Citi News arrived at the family’s home, local neighbors had gathered to lament the terrible situation.
Madam Comfort Ofori, a neighbor, almost avoided dying when she refused to open the door for Alex when she heard his grandfather screaming for help.
Residents are afraid and want the police to be more visible in their neighborhoods day and night to prevent further incidents.
