Following an altercation on campus Tuesday night, a final-year student at Wa T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa Amass) was stabbed and is in critical condition.

Iddrisu Ibrahim, also known as Lincoln, and his companion Hafis, also known as Baayaawa, were final-year students when the event occurred, according to witnesses, after a furious disagreement.

Lincoln, a Bulenga third-year student studying agricultural science, is accused of filming Hafis without getting his permission.

Lincoln was approached by Hafis, a Bawku third-year general arts student, who insisted that the video be taken down.

Lincoln was allegedly threatened with a knife by Hafis when he refused. According to witnesses, Lincoln challenged him to carry out the threat and rejected it.

When Hafis allegedly produced a knife and stabbed Lincoln in the stomach and ribs, the situation allegedly descended into violence.

Hafis tried to leave the area after the attack, but word of the occurrence traveled swiftly throughout the school. Police reportedly arrived in time to stop additional violence as a number of students mobilized in an attempt to retaliate. Hafis was taken into custody for interrogation after being apprehended by officers.

Lincoln was hurt, but he was able to stumble from the dorm area to the school library before he passed out.

The knife was still lodged in Lincoln when he emerged, according to a female witness. Before they sent him to the hospital, a few kids pulled it out of him.

His health is reported as serious but stable at the Wa Regional Hospital, where he is presently undergoing treatment.

Investigations by the police are still ongoing. Although school officials have not yet released an official statement, campus security has been increased to stop such situations in the future.
