Here at the Port of Tema, Pacific International Lines (PIL) has named its brand-new LNG dual-fuel container ship, MV Kota Odessey, which can hold 8,200 TEUs. This is the first time PIL has named a vessel outside of Asia.

As the Lady Sponsor of this historic event, we were honored to welcome H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, along with Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, Minister of Transportation; Mr. Lars Kastrup, CEO and MD of PIL Ghana; the Harbour Master of the Port of Tema; GPHA General Managers; and numerous other notable guests.

In addition to solidifying Ghana’s position in international shipping, this milestone highlights the industry’s dedication to cleaner fuels and sustainable maritime operations and is consistent with the IMO’s green energy strategy.
