Anthony Acquah has been taken into custody by the Kwesimintsim District Police Command in the Western Region in relation to the killing of his 17-year-old brother, Francis Mensah, at Manpong-Pepease, a Sekondi neighborhood.
The event took place on August 16, 2025, a Saturday.
According to a statement that was copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and signed by Police Superintendent Olivia Adiku, the Western Regional Police Command’s Head of Public Affairs, the suspect was taken into custody at his hiding place in Kojokrom on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, on the basis of “tangible intelligence.”
Initial investigations revealed that Acquah had a disagreement with his younger brother on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 1800 hours, and fatally stabbed him as a result, according to the statement.
It said that as soon as the crime was committed, the suspect fled into hiding till being apprehended.
It further stated that the suspect is currently being held by the police to help with investigations.
